Senior Program Manager, Fashion, JP Softlines

Want to shape how millions of customers in Japan discover and trust top brands on Amazon? Amazon Japan is investing in dedicated program management to accelerate key business segments. We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to lead this effort — a role that cuts across functions and geographies to drive meaningful growth.

You will translate worldwide strategy into a single Japan-wide execution plan, define problem spaces where no prior playbook exists, and drive outcomes across a complex set of partners spanning Operations, Marketing, Ads, Customer Experience, Tech, Brand Protection, New Business Development, and Japan Consumer Insights.

This role sits within Japan Softlines but owns program management across all of Japan. If you are curious, analytical, and energized by connecting dots across a full business rather than just one piece of it, we would love to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end program strategy for your business segment: define and evolve the mission, vision, objectives, and success criteria, then build and maintain the roadmap that turns strategy into sequenced, measurable execution across product families.
• Create and operate mechanisms — including program tracking tools such as Asana, monthly updates, quarterly business reviews, and annual planning cycles — to monitor program health, surface risks early, and keep senior leadership informed of progress and trade-offs.
• Conduct in-depth analysis to identify growth opportunities, assess investments, and inform prioritization decisions — collaborating with business intelligence partners to ensure the team has the data it needs for deep dives and performance management.
• Identify where artificial intelligence can accelerate workstreams and drive growth, partnering with Tech and cross-functional teams to integrate AI-powered solutions into the program roadmap.

A day in the life

You might open your morning reviewing program dashboards and metrics, then jump into a working session with Marketing and Ads partners to align on an upcoming campaign tied to your roadmap. After lunch you could be drafting a narrative that frames a key investment decision for leadership, followed by a sync with US and EU counterparts where you share learnings and adapt a mechanism that worked well in another region.

Throughout it all, you are connecting teams across Operations, Customer Experience, Brand Protection, and beyond — clearing blockers and making sure the right work moves forward.

• 5+ years of program or project management experience
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

• 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
• Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
