Sales Engineer — Service Provider Network & Open Network Solutions

1. Job Title

Sales Engineer (Service Provider Network / Open Network Solutions)

2. Background

Demand for open network solutions such as White Box Switches and SONiC is growing rapidly. We are looking to hire a technical Sales Engineer who can engage directly with key end customers (e.g., NTT, KDDI, SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile) to understand their future network architecture needs and propose optimal open solutions.

3. Key Responsibilities

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including major telecom carriers such as NTT, KDDI, and SoftBank.

· Understand customer visions and technical requirements through deep technical discussions.

· Propose open networking solutions, including White Box Switches and SONiC-based NOS (Network Operating System) architectures.

· Understand high-level topologies for cloud data center networks.

· Build and foster relationships with ecosystem partners, including ODM vendors, System Integrators (SIers), and NOS developers.

· Serve as a primary technical liaison with Broadcom Product Divisions (BUs).

4. Required Skills & Experience

· 10+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer (SE) or technical pre-sales engineer, ideally working with telecom carriers or cloud operators.

· Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking, EVPN, VXLAN, and associated core routing/switching protocols.

· Knowledge and familiarity with Cisco ACI.

· Proven track record in defining customer requirements and leading technical proposals.

· Strong documentation skills and excellent interpersonal communication capabilities.

5. Preferred Skills & Experience

· Hands-on experience delivering technical proposals to telecom carriers or cloud service providers.

· Knowledge of switch silicon architectures, such as Broadcom and NVIDIA Spectrum ethernet switches.

· Hands-on or architecture experience with open NOS platforms (e.g., SONiC, Cumulus Linux).

· English proficiency to read technical documentation and effectively communicate with Broadcom US-based Business Units (BUs).

· Strong logical thinking and the ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions.
