Job Description

Summary of Job Description:

Reporting to the Medical Affairs Manager, this position serves as the affiliate’s medical and scientific expert for the assigned product(s) and therapeutic areas, with a primary focus on real-world evidence generation activities. The role is responsible for partnering with the TA/MSL medical team, Evidence Solutions Group, and other internal and external stakeholders to develop evidence concepts and protocols, support study execution, and strengthen the scientific foundation of the assigned therapeutic areas.

It also supports the identification, review, and management of Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), while engaging with external stakeholders to exchange scientific insights and advance evidence generation strategies.

Major Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and support the medical strategy for the assigned therapeutic area, with emphasis on real-world evidence generation.
• Collaborate with the TA/MSL medical team, Evidence Solutions Group, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop evidence concepts, study proposals, protocols, and IIS-related activities.
• Support the planning, review, and management of real-world evidence generation activities and IIS in alignment with internal standards and applicable procedures.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders, including academic experts and other relevant partners, to support evidence generation and scientific exchange.
• Review and synthesize relevant scientific literature, congress data, and external insights to identify evidence gaps, scientific trends, and opportunities relevant to the therapeutic area.
• Serve as a scientific resource for the assigned therapeutic areas, including responding to medical and scientific information requests and contributing to core medical materials and dossiers.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and AbbVie standards and policies.

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical science and regulations – Required
• Excellent oral and written English communication skill – Required
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements governing clinical trials and experience in development strategy and the design of protocols – Required
• Experience of job in pharmaceutical company over 3 years – Desirable

Education/Experience Required:

Ph.D. – Desirable

Bachelor or Master of Science – Required
