Software Engineer / Chapter Lead – Japan Platform

Key responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer and Chapter Lead to advance the Japan Asset Management Platform and deliver against business priorities and objectives. Combining hands-on engineering with senior leadership, this role will work closely with business partners to drive transformation, align processes to global standards, and deliver scalable, reliable solutions that support growth and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will mentor engineers, champion best practices, and apply Artificial Intelligence to business opportunities and developer productivity.

The role also carries leadership responsibility across Asset Management Japan for regulatory compliance, system risk, vendor management, and operational stability.

The team

Key Responsibilities

• Drive transformation in Asset Management Japan.
• Design, develop, and maintain platform applications and services. Work with stakeholders on AI solutions to support business growth and operational efficiency.
• Lead technical delivery, leverage AI to improve productivity and lead architecture discussions across projects.
• Drive platform stability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Ensure adherence to security, risk, and compliance standards.
• Support incident resolution and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Your skills and experience

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong full stack development background with experience in enterprise platforms, cloud technologies, agentic solutions and DevSecOps
• Proficiency in application design, Agile methodologies and the use of AI in SDLC.
• Experience leading engineering teams across multiple locations, technical workstreams and large projects
• Strong stakeholder management, communication skills and influencing skills
• Strong understanding of operational risk management, information security, regulatory compliance, and technology controls.
• Good understanding of Financial Securities products and ideally the Asset Management business

Preferred

• Experience in financial services or large-scale enterprise environments.
• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, software engineering, or enterprise technology management
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Japanese language capability would be a plus
