Finance Manager, JP Payments

Amazon seeks a Finance Business Partner to support Amazon Japan Payments team, mainly Amazon Pay and Partner Points programs. The person will be part of a team responsible for long and short term financial planning, controllership of weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting, and provide rigorous business modelling to support strategic negotiations with partners.

They will drive both short- and long-term investment decisions, including product innovation, go/no-go launch assessments, strategic pricing, and resource allocation.

Candidate should have the following strengths:

• Self-starter that is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
• Ability to work well with cross functional teams and lead Senior Leadership reviews.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Financial modeling and working with large data sets
• Strong strategic business partnering experience
• Solid business judgment and controllership focus.
• The ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions.

A day in the life

• Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly reporting of performance KPIs and variance analyses
• Forecasting and Planning
• Financial modeling to support deal negotiations
• ROI analysis for Marketing and dev work investments

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related analytical field
• 6+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience, with focus on strategic/commercial finance
• Strong Excel proficiency in financial modelling and analytics, also leveraging AI Tools
• Business Level English and Japanese
• Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
• Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization
• Demonstrated fluency with AI tools and workflows, including the ability to leverage generative AI for financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business case development.
• Experience driving continuous process improvements and automation that enhance controllership and scale

• Experience working with Cognos, TM1, and Oracle Financials or similar tools
• Experience with financial services, payments or e-commerce
• MBA, or CPA
• Familiarity with agentic AI product economics or emerging technology monetization
