We are looking for a Japan & China IT Services Sites Lead who is technically strong, service-oriented, and collaborative to join our IT team, based in our Tokyo office. This role provides leadership across sites in Japan while coordinating IT site operations and service delivery activities in China.

About the role

You will be responsible for commercial and manufacturing site support, ensuring operational stability across the Tokyo office, Saitama Plant, and sales offices, while providing operational oversight and coordination for sites in China (Shanghai Office, Beijing Office, Suzhou Office and Warehouse). You will also be accountable for the quality, accuracy, compliance, and lifecycle governance of all IT assets across the region.

Acting as the primary IT contact for Japan and coordinating local IT support activities in China, you will serve as the regional Service Delivery Manager for services delivered by our global or local partners. You will ensure seamless end-user experience by coordinating managed-service delivery across IT infrastructure, service desk operations, onsite IT support, facilities-related IT systems, engineering support, and local application support, while maintaining alignment with global IT strategies and standards.

This is not a hands-on engineering role. The successful candidate should have a strong technical foundation and be capable of assessing technical situations, directing vendors and support teams, and driving issue resolution. A key part of the role is to act as the bridge between Global IT and local IT departments, translating global direction into locally relevant priorities and bringing regional needs and feedback into global discussions.

This role offers the opportunity to drive major IT and digital transformation initiatives across Japan and China, influence local stakeholders, reinforce the global Digital Technology (DT) and IT strategy, and coordinate the regional landing of global projects by mobilizing the local team and relevant partners.

Who you’ll work with

You will work closely with local business stakeholders in Japan, Global IT teams, Service Desk and Service Delivery Managers, Workplace Technology teams, infrastructure and facilities IT stakeholders, security teams, and external vendors and managed-service providers. You will also coordinate local IT support activities for sites in China and work across Japan and China to ensure consistent, secure, and high-quality IT service delivery.

The role has no direct internal reports but provides functional leadership, prioritization, and operational oversight for external service providers, infrastructure resources, and support teams serving Japan and China.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the primary IT services lead for Japan and coordinate IT support activities across China, ensuring service consistency, effective escalation management, and alignment with Global IT strategy, standards, and business priorities.
  • Provide operational leadership for service desk operations, onsite IT support, facilities-

related IT systems, engineering support, local application support, and infrastructure

operations across Japan and China.

  • Own and oversee local facilities applications across Japan and China, ensuring their life

cycle, support, compliance, and continuous improvement are aligned with the global IT

facilities strategy, architecture, standards, and roadmap.

  • Act as the regional Service Delivery Manager for services, coordinating delivery,

monitoring performance and service quality, managing escalations, and driving

continuous improvement against agreed service levels.

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective IT operations through the management of site

technologies, operational budgets, IT assets, vendor performance, and service quality.

  • Act as the primary local escalation point and trusted advisor to business stakeholders,

translating business and infrastructure needs into effective IT solutions and coordinating

the resolution of complex operational issues.

  • Act as the bridge between Global IT and local IT teams, influence and manage local

stakeholders, reinforce adoption of the global DT and IT strategy, and ensure regional

requirements are appropriately represented.

  • Lead site-level governance activities, including infrastructure changes, participation in the

Change Advisory Board (CAB), compliance requirements, and operational risk

management.

  • Own the quality of all IT assets across the region and manage asset lifecycle activities,

ensuring accurate records, compliance, security, cost efficiency, and effective leasing, retirement, and disposal processes.

  • Lead the local implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of workplace and

digital transformation initiatives to enhance the end-user experience.

  • Coordinate the regional implementation of global projects by assessing local impact,

mobilizing local teams and service partners, managing dependencies and readiness, and

supporting successful deployment and adoption across Japan and China.

  • Ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and policy adherence across local IT services and

infrastructure.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following experience and skills

  • 5+ years of experience leading IT Operations, Infrastructure Services, Workplace

Technology, or Service Delivery in a complex multinational environment.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT technologies, including End User Computing,

infrastructure, networks, cloud services, Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, and

cybersecurity.

  • Proven experience leading incident resolution and operational support through internal teams and external vendors, with the ability to assess technical issues, provide direction, manage escalations, and drive timely resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT vendors and managed-service providers, including service performance, SLAs, service quality, operational costs, governance reviews, escalations, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience governing IT asset quality and lifecycle management across multiple sites, I including inventory accuracy, compliance, security, leasing, retirement, disposal, and cost control.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with experience acting as the bridge between global and local IT teams, translating global strategy into regional priorities, and representing local needs in global discussions.
  • Experience coordinating the regional delivery of global IT projects, including local impact assessment, resource mobilization, dependency and readiness management, deployment, adoption, and alignment with global standards.
  • Experience operating in Japan and collaborating with local business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams; experience working across multiple sites or countries is an advantage.
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency.
  • Business-fluent English, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence decisions, and operate effectively within a global organization.
  • Strong customer-service mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

Preferred experience and skills

  • Experience supporting IT operations, infrastructure, or business technology environments

in China.

  • Knowledge of the Chinese IT landscape, business environment, or regulatory requirements.
  • Chinese language proficiency.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders across different functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience driving change-management initiatives and supporting the adoption of new technologies, tools, or ways of working.
  • Experience leading or supporting large-scale IT initiatives such as office relocations, infrastructure migrations, site expansions, or digital workplace transformations.
