About This Role
Mujin is a global leader in industrial automation, redefining supply chain efficiency through MujinOS—our intelligent operating system for robotics. At our core is Machine Intelligence (MujinMI), a unique approach that leverages real-time digital twins and advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to achieve fully autonomous operations.
Our flagship product, MujinController, empowers users with a highly configurable, no-code interface. By integrating cutting-edge motion planning and computer vision, it enables seamless automation for complex applications such as palletizing, picking, and truck unloading.
Headquartered in Japan with a growing presence in the US, China, and Europe, we invite you to join a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation.
Team Introduction
As a Frontend Engineer on Mujin’s Warehouse Execution System (WES) & Fleet Management team, you will develop user-facing applications used daily in warehouse operations. Your work will shape how operators interact with warehouse systems through browser-based interfaces and industrial Android devices.
You will build reliable, responsive, and intuitive interfaces for demanding production environments, where stability, performance, and usability are critical. Working closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and operations teams, you will deliver features that support warehouse workflows and help users monitor and manage automated operations.
The role spans frontend architecture, reusable UI components, backend integration, and development tooling, with opportunities to contribute across the application stack.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces for WES and fleet management applications across web and industrial Android devices.
- Build reusable, high-performance UI components that support real-time operational data and long-running warehouse workflows.
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate operational requirements into intuitive, accessible user experiences.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and collaborate with backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
- Improve application stability, responsiveness, and maintainability through profiling, debugging, and refactoring.
- Develop and improve testing, localization, build, and release pipelines.
- Investigate and resolve production issues in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites in Japan and abroad to understand operational needs and support deployment.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent academic or professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Product development experience using desktop, mobile, or web UI frameworks.
- Familiarity with Linux software development and toolchains.
- English communication skills sufficient for technical discussions and collaboration.
Preferable Requirements
- Product development experience using React, Babylon.js, or WebGL.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and threading.
- Familiarity with localization and translation pipelines.
- Experience developing C++ and Python addons.
- Full-stack development experience.
Attractiveness
- Build software that directly supports real-world warehouse operations. You will see your work used by operators and contribute to interfaces that make complex automation easier to understand and manage.
- Our team works collaboratively, reviews ideas openly, and encourages continuous learning. You will have opportunities to take ownership from design through deployment, solve challenging technical problems, and work across frontend and backend systems alongside engineers with deep expertise in industrial automation.
Interview Process
- Coding Assessment: Initial technical evaluation.
- HR Interview: Discussion with Human Resources.
- Technical Interview: One or two rounds with the frontend team's manager.
- Final Interview: Cultural fit interview with hiring manager.
