Payments & Cash Specialist (Operations)

Key responsibilities

We’re looking for a Payments & Cash Specialist to help us:

• Ensure daily cash management and liquidity control is in place
• Release daily domestic and international payments, meeting local and global control requirements
• Service wealth management client payments to ensure timely, accurate settlement
• Resolve non-straight-through processing exceptions to restore flow and improve turnaround times
• Support internal projects and process improvements to speed up decisions and improve client satisfaction

The team

You’ll be working in the Cash Management & Payment team within wealth management operations in Tokyo, Japan. We manage daily cash settlement flow and ensure adequate controls are in place, partnering closely with internal and external clients. We foster a collaborative, inclusive environment and support continuous process improvement in a hybrid working model.

Your skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• Payments process knowledge across domestic and international payments processing and local retail payment services
• Proficiency with SWIFT to support accurate, timely payment and settlement execution
• Ability to ensure daily cash management and liquidity control with strong attention to controls
• Skill reconciling statement versus ledger and resolving breaks to closure
• Capability to manage non-straight-through processing exceptions with a strong client focus
• A flexible, resilient team-player mindset and ability to build strong relationships
• Fluency in Japanese or equivalent experience
• Ideally business-level English, both written and spoken, or equivalent experience
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards and ethical use.
