About MI-6 / MI-6について

MI-6’s mission is to transform materials R&D through Materials Informatics.

Materials research still relies heavily on fragmented data, individual expertise, and manual experimentation. We are building a new R&D environment where researchers, AI, data, and laboratory systems work together.

Our work spans software, data science, scientific computing, and laboratory automation. By connecting these capabilities, we aim to enable researchers to explore ideas, conduct experiments, and turn discoveries into real-world outcomes more effectively.

Role / 役割

As a Research Scientist, you will independently lead R&D projects that develop MI-6’s future technical capabilities.

You will take technical challenges relevant to our products and business, formulate hypotheses, design an approach, and evaluate the results. You will also implement your ideas and make them concrete enough for others to test, assess, and develop further.

Your work may become part of a product, a customer solution, an internal technology, or an automated research workflow.

Research Scientistとして、MI-6が将来必要とする技術を開発するR&Dプロジェクトを自律的に主導します。

プロダクトや事業に関わる技術課題に対して、仮説を立て、アプローチを設計し、その結果を評価します。さらに、アイデアを実装し、他のメンバーが検証、評価、発展させられる具体的な形へ落とし込みます。

成果は、プロダクト、顧客向けソリューション、社内技術、自動化された研究ワークフローなどへつながります。

What You Will Do / 主な業務

Lead R&D projects from problem definition through evaluation

Develop and test new algorithms, methods, and technical systems

Implement prototypes that demonstrate technical feasibility

Evaluate results and communicate clear conclusions

Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product teams, and business teams

必須スキル

Expertise in a scientific or technical field relevant to MI-6

Experience independently conducting research or technical development

Ability to formulate hypotheses and design appropriate evaluations

Programming skills required to implement and test your ideas

Ability to communicate and collaborate in English

材料科学、化学、機械学習、計算科学、ラボシステムに関する経験

応募概要

給与500～1000万円

JPY 5,000,000–10,000,000 per year

Final compensation will be determined based on experience and capabilities.

勤務地Remote work is generally available. Depending on the project, work at our Tokyo office or laboratory in Yokohama may be required.

原則としてリモート勤務が可能です。プロジェクトに応じて、東京オフィスまたは横浜のラボでの勤務があります。

1日の標準労働時間：8時間

Core hours: 11:00–16:00 JST

試用期間Six months / 6ヶ月
